What it does
Whether a creator business pays for its creator, and what one paid reader is worth. Contribution is revenue less platform and card fees and paid acquisition; the result after the owner’s draw and fixed costs is the month’s cash flow, and the first month it is positive is breakeven. Lifetime value is net revenue per paid subscriber over paid churn; the acquisition cost of a paid subscriber is the cost of a free one over the chance it ever pays.
