Private credit salary, by level

A private credit associate in London earns a base salary of £110k to £165k, with a bonus running from about half of base to several multiples of it. That puts total compensation near £230k in the middle of the range, and at the top of the ladder the total sits near £1.3m. Most of the spread at any level is fund size.

Capital solutions and special situations sit in the same table. The seats differ in what they buy, not in what they pay, and people move between them without changing level.

Figures describe 2026. Base is as published. The bonus range is derived from the same source’s total compensation range, bottom paired with bottom and top with top, then rounded to five percentage points.

What the cash figures leave out

The spread at every level is real and it is mostly fund size. Bonus runs from about half of base to several multiples of it, so two people on the same salary at the same level can be a long way apart on total, and the fund you join moves the number more than the year you join does. Carry and co-investment sit outside all of it and start to matter from around director.
