Corporate strategy salary, by level

A corporate strategy manager in London earns a base salary of £70k to £100k plus a cash bonus, so roughly £100k in total. A strategy director reaches around £185k. In-house strategy trades the consulting salary for consulting hours, and the gap narrows as you go up.

Corporate strategy teams hire out of consulting and price against it, so the pay follows the consulting curve at the junior end and diverges above manager, where a corporate ladder pays less cash and more long-term incentive.

London, corporates rather than consultancies. A strategy team inside a bank pays closer to the bank’s own ladder than to this one.

Figures describe 2025. Same basis as BizOps: about 7% of pay at the median for this occupation family in the official earnings survey, rising with seniority at the employers who run a target.

What the cash figures leave out

In-house strategy is the worst-covered market on this page. No published UK survey names the role, so these bands are built from the occupation family it sits inside and the London ranges for the transformation and commercial finance roles it is recruited alongside. Treat the shape as sound and any single figure as approximate.
