Selling the right to a future stream of drug royalties for cash today. A university, an inventor or a smaller drug company sells its royalty to a specialist fund or listed royalty company, which prices it on the licensee’s sales, the royalty tiers and term, and the probability of approval, and judges the purchase on its IRR.
