RevPAR

Revenue per available room: rooms revenue divided by the room nights a hotel could have sold, which is the same as occupancy times the average daily rate. A hotel 72% full at $190 a night has a RevPAR of $136.80. It is the hotel industry’s headline measure because it captures both how full the hotel is and what it charged, so a hotel cannot flatter it by discounting to fill rooms.
