Apply Packs
Know what a role asks for before you apply.
An Apply Pack takes one role on the tracker and reads the employer’s own posting. It sets out what they ask for, which lines of your CV answer it, what to check before you apply and what to do next. It is preparation for one application, built from that employer’s words rather than generic advice.
Finding roles and applying to them are free. A pack never scores you or predicts an outcome.
Three questions a candidate has about one role
Most applications are prepared from a feeling. A pack answers these from the posting itself.
What the employer asks for
The posting’s own words, split into essential and preferred, with the qualities it names, the work it describes and the rules it states: a limit on applications, a right-to-work condition, documents to attach, a test to sit. Every quoted line is theirs, with where and when it was read.
What to show
For each skill and kind of work the posting names, a line from the CV you keep in CV Studio that uses the same kind of words, or a plain note that none was found. That is a pointer to what to lead with, not a verdict on you. Your CV is read in your browser and is not sent anywhere.
What to do next
A checklist built from this posting alone: the examples to find, the cover letter or transcript if it asks for one, the drills and guides this seat is tested on, who to write to at the firm and a short message to edit. Tick it off as you go and save it as a PDF.
A pack, section by section
This is what a pack looks like for a summer analyst programme. The ticks and the “I have an example of this” boxes work, so you can see how a row changes.
Example Capital is a fictional firm. The posting and the CV of the invented candidate, Sam Example, were written for this page, and the pack below was built from them.

- “Build and update financial models, including discounted cash flow and comparable company analyses, for live client situations”
- “Prepare presentations and pitch materials for senior bankers and clients”
- “Research companies and industries and summarise what you find in short memos”
- “Work with colleagues across teams to meet deal deadlines”
2.Evidence to show on your CV
In the full pack
Each row is something the posting asks a CV to show. Where a line in the CV uses the same kind of words, it is suggested here, quoted as written: a pointer to what to show, not a judgement. “Not found” means only that the words were not found. In a real pack your CV is read in your browser and goes nowhere. Tick a box below to see how a row changes.

Who to reach at Example Capital
In a real pack each of these is a LinkedIn search by the firm’s name and the seat’s title: a search, not an introduction.
The campus recruiter
They run early-career hiring at Example Capital. One short note with the exact role title and the posting's link, asking who looks after this programme, is enough.
Search LinkedIn for “Example Capital campus recruiter”
Someone doing this job at Example Capital now
Ask one specific question about their work. A referral, when one comes, comes out of a real conversation rather than a request for one.
Search LinkedIn for “Example Capital investment banking analyst”
Someone from your university at Example Capital
Open the search, then choose your university under School in LinkedIn’s filters. A shared background is the most natural reason to write.
Search LinkedIn for “Example Capital”
A message to people at Example Capital

Hi [their first name], I'm applying for the 2027 Summer Analyst Programme, Investment Banking at Example Capital this cycle. The work closest to it so far: researched a listed retailer, built a three-statement model and DCF and presented the valuation to a panel of 40 members (Analyst, Example University Investment Society). I'd really value ten minutes to hear how you found the team and the process. Any pointers would mean a lot, and I'm happy to work around your schedule. Thanks, Sam Example

What the full pack contains
- Each requirement, set against your profile. Every requirement in the employer’s posting beside what your profile says, line by line: what it shows, what is left for you to confirm and what you have not supplied yet. No score and no percentage.
- Evidence to show on your CV. For each skill and kind of work the posting names, a suggested line from the CV you keep in CV Studio, found by the words it uses. Mark the examples you have that your CV does not show yet. Your CV stays in your browser.
- Check before you apply. The rules this posting states, the dates and the details only you can confirm, as a checklist you tick off.
- What to prepare next. Tailoring your CV to this posting, the examples to find, and a cover letter or transcript where the posting asks for one, then 4 drills and 2 guides, chosen for what this seat is tested on.
- Who to reach, and what to say. The people worth writing to at the employer, each with a LinkedIn search, and a short message to edit and copy that quotes a line from your CV where one fits.
- A copy to keep. Print it or save it as a PDF to keep beside the application form.
Questions
- Does an Apply Pack tell me whether I will get the role?
- No. There is no score, no percentage and no prediction. A pack shows what the posting asks for and what your CV shows, and says plainly what is not shown or is yours to confirm. Something missing from your CV may still be true of you.
- Do I need a pack to apply?
- No. The employer’s Apply link is the first thing on every role’s page, goes straight to the employer and is free on every plan. A pack is for the preparation around the application.
- What if the posting cannot be read?
- Some employers use application systems we cannot read, and some postings name nothing we can check. The pack says so before anything is spent, and you still have the employer’s link and the free preparation for the seat.
- Is my CV uploaded?
- No. The CV you keep in CV Studio stays in your browser, and the pack reads it there. The server builds the employer’s side of the pack and never sees your CV.
